Independent Commercial Strategy for Wine Businesses at Inflection Points
Wine businesses reach moments where operational expertise is no longer enough.
I work alongside founders, executives and owners to bring external commercial thinking to decisions that shape direction, growth and value.
Denys St Pierre — Why Me?
With more than two decades inside premium wine businesses, I bring independent commercial judgement to moments of change, growth and complexity.
My experience spans brand, commercial and leadership contexts — providing a whole-of-business perspective rather than a single discipline view.
I work across owners, executives and teams, helping translate complexity into clear direction.
Pattern recognition built from multiple business models, market cycles and organisational pressures
Ability to diagnose the real issue beneath the stated problem
Commercially grounded advice that considers margin, structure, capability and timing
Strong prioritisation — what matters now versus what can wait
Independent perspective without internal politics or agenda
Language leaders can use internally to create alignment and momentum
Discretion and trust as operating principles
Selective engagements that favour depth over volume
Pace without haste — moving work forward without rushing decisions
Having lived and worked in Margaret River for over 20 years, I understand the realities of running a winery here. Production, tourism, cellar door performance, wholesale pressure, wine club expectations and cash-flow timing all intersect — often creating complexity that is hard to step back from while operating day-to-day.
I’ve operated at senior leadership and General Manager level within a leading winery, restaurant and distillery environment. I’ve overseen sales, production coordination, DTC growth, procurement, bottling schedules, product development and team leadership. I understand the pressure because I’ve carried it.
